Abstract
Arsenic is a toxic heavy metal. It has caused serious pollution of groundwater recent years, the treatment of arsenic contamination drinking water becomes a hot research topic. In this paper, the granitization red soil, which is widely distributed in South China, cheap easy to get is used as the adsorption material, studied by adsorption of arsenic removal performance. The results show that after 24h reaction with the arsenic solution, the removal rate of the soil taken is 95% or more, the adsorption capacity is 476μg/g, indicating a good removal effect to arsenic in drinking water. The results of adsorption isotherms are fitted with Langmuir and Freundlich equations, and the fitting results are significant, dynamic experimental results accord with the pseudo-second order kinetic equation.
