Abstract :
A uni-planar folded monopole antenna for mobile phone application is presented. The antenna incorporates two folded monopole elements and a capacitively coupled parasitic element effectively integrated in a small foot print of 22 × 34 × 0.8mm3. The optimized design provide three resonant bands with broad enough to cover major LTE/GSM/UMTS/WiFi bands. The first band is from 802MHz to 1056MHz for the GSM850/UMTS v850/CDMA800(BC0)/LTE(B5)/BC10. The broad band from 1709MHz to 2483MHz incorporates LTE(B3/B4/B25)/UMTS2100. The IEEE 802.11a WiFi band is covered by the third resonant band of the antenna from 4982 MHz - 5376MHz. Detailed of the proposed design including S-parameters, surface current plots and radiation patterns are presented.
