Abstract :
The fuzzy control algorithm that carries on the intelligent control twelve phases three traffic lanes single crossroads traffic light, works well in the real-time traffic flow under flexible operation. The procedures can be described as below: first, the number of vehicles of all the lanes can be received through the sensor, and the phase with the largest number is stipulated to be highest priority, while the phase turns to the next one from the previous, it transfers into the highest priority. Then the best of the green light delay time can be figured out under the fuzzy rules reasoning on the current waiting formation length and general formation length. The simulation result indicates the fuzzy control method on vehicle delay time compared with the traditional timed control method is greatly improved.
