Abstract :
In this paper, two ferromagnetic insulating oxides, BiMnO/sub 3/(BMO) and NiFe/sub 2/O/sub 4/(NFO) were discussed. NFO presented the advantage that its electronic and magnetic properties can be tuned by controlling growth conditions. BMO epitaxial thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition while NFO spinel films were grown by rf sputtering. Magnetization, tunneling magnetoresistance and spin polarization were measured for both materials.
