Abstract :
An energy-based hybrid control framework for stabilization of multimachine power systems is proposed as a means to enhance transient stability of power systems. This approach is based on energy representation of power systems by using port-controlled Hamiltonian forms. The controllers utilize logic-based switching to enhance energy dissipation for the synchronous generators. This paper develops general energy dissipating excitation control design and stabilization results for such controllers.
