Abstract :
Compact antenna arrays are more and more used in mobile terminals with MIMO technology. However, mutual couplings between the radiation elements degrade the performance of arrays with respect to radiation efficiency, diversity, impedance matching and so on. In this paper, a simple compact three-element printed diversity array operating around 6 GHz is designed and measured. This array consists of two compact printed monopoles and one quasi Yagi antenna. The mutual coupling is reduced by implementing partially extended ground plane structures. Good matching, decoupling, diversity performances and broad operation bandwidth are achieved.
