Abstract
The article presents the application of Zigbee to body area network. Bluetooth is an ubiquitous standards e.g. mobile phones and laptops having a drawbacks of high power consumption and underutilised data rate for BANs. Zigbee/IEEE 802.15.4 has low power consumption, low cost and high density of nodes per network, simple protocol, global implementation. Zigbee-Bluetooth gateways is need to developed to combine the ubiquity of Bluetooth with low power operability and low cost of Zigbee.
