Abstract
In the past years the European CSE Project collected and annotated a lot of rest EKGs, today available as reference databases (DBs) for testing interpretative programmes. A PC based instrument has been developed by the authors to render these kinds of DBs usable for quality assurance of interpretative equipments. The system is constituted by an electronic circuit, connected to a PC, whose outputs simulates the limbs and chest electrode connections of a virtual patient to the electrocardiograph (ECgraph). The system has been integrated by two different DBs annotated: the first (the Multihead CSE DB) used for measurement test and the second constituted by 958 EKGs collected by different ECgraphs. Mathematical indexes have been computed to quantify the induced differences on the representative beats obtained from the original digital signals and the continuous analog generated potentials (of course computed with the same algorithms). Furthermore, the reproduction accuracy of the system has been tested by the DB with the annotated diagnosis
