Abstract :
In order to testify the reliability of geostatistics in research on pollutant dispersion, this paper undertook a numerical simulation on the leakage and dispersion of liquid chlorine by means of the software FLUENT. Based on basic theory of kriging of geostatistics, it made a numerical program of Matlab, and carried out estimated value calculation on simulating results of FLUENT. Taking the spatial dispersion rule and hazardous zone of chlorine, this paper conducted a comparative analysis on kriging estimating result and FLUENT simulating result, and it proved quite suitable and effective in applying kriging method for gas spatial dispersion rule. At last, this paper explored its promising application of geostatistics in environmental science and pointed out this method could provide reference for information or decision-making in the prediction of hazardous gas dispersion trend and influence range, reasonable arrangement of monitoring points, as well as delimiting warning regions.
