Abstract :
The problem of bearing estimation using radar focal plane arrays is addressed. Motivated by a requirement for a compact integrated solution in the sensor focal plane, a basis function approach is adopted. The development of a solution that is robust to sensor noise leads to a ridge regression-type estimate for the model parameters. The approach is assessed using radially symmetric kernel functions on simulated radar data
