  • Abstract
To avoid the lack of empirical methods and reduce the cost of Parking Guidance and Information System, the determined method of vehicle detector wiring in the parking was studied. The control structure of the Parking Guidance and Information System was analyzed, the wiring optimization strategies were chosen, and then a minimum cost mathematical model of cable was set up. By measuring the Manhattan distance as the dissimilarity between objects, computing the initial cluster centers based on the density and selecting objects by comparing distance, the K-means clustering algorithms was improved, and the process was end up when the value of the object function never become smaller. The algorithm was programmed by VB6.0 and tested by an example. The result demonstrates that value of the object function counted by the new method is 3177.5m, more less than 5300m, estimated by the traditional way, so the location of the node controller determined by the algorithm is more reasonable and can reduce the expense of wiring.
