Abstract
A brief history and some of the activities of the Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) are introduced. Specifically, the organization, membership distribution, publication activities, and educational activities of the IEICE today are also introduced. The root of the engineering education in Japan is introduced and its relation to the current engineering education in USA is stated.
