Abstract :
The influence of operation conditions such as pH, gas flow rate, temperature, p-chloronitrobenzene concentration, and radical scavenger on the degradation of p-chloronitrobenzene in water by ozone was studied. At the condition of pH=12, Q0=50 mg/L, Q=0.4 L/min, T=288 k, C0=60 mg/L, 98% p-chloronitrobenzene was removed within 25 minutes. Radical scavenger had obvious effects on the degradation of p-chloronitrobenzene, and the main part of the reaction remains indirect oxidization of ozone molecule. The reaction between ozone and p-chloronitrobenzene can be regarded as fast pseudo first-order at pH 3.5∼11.5.
