Abstract
Due to the large number and the individual usage of electrical devices, energy-conscious consumers have to spend a lot of time and effort to distinguish between the influences regarding the total power consumption of each electric device. To split up the total power consumption, additional expensive measurement equipment is necessary or the measuring data from smart meters can be disaggregated to provide consumers with valuable additional information about their power consumption of selected electrical devices. In this paper a novel method of energy disaggregation is proposed. It is based on motif mining as well as on incorporating on and off durations of the electrical devices. The first results show a promising and allow a high accuracy.
