Abstract
We analyse the nonlinear effect of an RF power amplifier on CDMA signals and then derive an expression of an estimation of the out-of-band emission levels for CDMA signals in terms of the power transistor´s traditional nonlinearity parameters, the third-order intermodulation coefficient (IP3) and the fifth-order intermodulation coefficient (IP5), as well as the power level and bandwidth of the signal. This result will be useful to system and component engineers in the design and test of RF power amplifiers for cellular CDMA wireless system
