Abstract :
The driving cycle is very useful transportation management field, such as vehicle exhaust emissions evaluation, route planning etc. The GPS (Global positioning systems) is adopted to collect data from trips performed on four routes in Xi´an city. The survey scenario is established combining with vehicle track method and route cyclic method and fit the real world condition of Xi´an as soon as possible. The data collected are processed to gain the vehicle-operating modes characteristic parameter of main roadway, speed roadway, secondary roadway and branch roadway. Lastly, the driving cycle for vehicles in Xi´an is setup. The analyses show that the driving cycle established can reflect the real world condition of Xian´s traffic flow and has practical value in some degree.
