Abstract :
A novel highly-efficient BHB (boost half-bridge) type DC-DC converter with 1V/20A DC output is proposed. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the mechanism of occurring the power losses in BHB type converters, and indicate the design method how to realize the high power efficient DC-DC converter with low output voltage such as 1V or lower than 1V. As a result, the authors realize the superior DC-DC converter as an on-board power supply with very high efficiency of 88.2% at 48V DC input and 1V/20A DC output.
