Abstract
This paper presents a brief introduction of the wavelet transform and an application to heart rate variability studies. It is an attempt to reveal some underlying features to readers who are not yet familiar with the wavelet transform on what makes the wavelet one of the most useful tools for research today. Topics introduced include the wavelet transform and an application for HRV studies
