Abstract
This paper presents a detailed analysis of magnetizing and resetting process of the self-reset power transformer in a zero-voltage-switching forward converter topology. Flux excursion is investigated as a function of circuit parameters and operating conditions, and characteristics of flux excursion are discussed and summarized for successful reset without increasing the core losses. Simulation results of the flux excursion are also presented to verify the analysis.
