Abstract :
In this paper, a new indirect adaptive fault-tolerant controller design methods dynamic output feedback is presented to tolerate actuator faults for linear time-invariant systems. Based on the on-line estimation of eventual faults, the adaptive fault-tolerant controller parameters are updating automatically to compensate the fault effect on system. A notion of adaptive H∞ performance index is proposed to describe the disturbance attenuation performances of closed-loop systems. The designs are developed in the framework of linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, which can guaranteed the asymptotic stability and adaptive H∞ performances of closed-loop systems even in the presence of actuator faults. Benefits of the proposed design are demonstrated by a numerical example and its simulation results
