Abstract :
A channel adaptive variable rate pulse position modulation (PPM) transmission scheme is proposed in an indoor non-directed diffuse channel. To provide mobility to the user, the place of the transmitter should be changeable within the room. The change of the configuration leads to variance of the channel model, i.e., change of the attenuation factor and delay spread. Hence, to increase the overall throughput, a variable-rate transmission scheme is necessary in the indoor optical wireless channel
