Abstract
Many industrial applications have a need for fast linear X-Y stages. Two-axis linear motors can provide compact, reliable, and accurate solutions for such applications. However, conventional linear stepping motor implementations have a number of drawbacks in industrial environments. This paper presents a digital closed-loop servo control system for high speed two-axis linear motors. The paper covers the modelling of the motor and describes the hardware and software components of the system
