Abstract :
A CSRR-loaded waveguide slot antenna with reduced broad-wall dimensions is presented. The CSRRs are etched on the broad-wall of a waveguide and generate a pass-band below the cutoff frequency. A single longitudinal slot is added on the intact waveguide broad-wall to radiate at the generated pass-band. At 0.97 GHz, a broad-wall size reduction of 63.12% is achieved. An input return loss of -12.661 dB, gain of 5.457 dBi and radiation efficiency of -0.1652 dB are achieved. The dimensions of the waveguide antenna are 72.146 mm × 54.046 mm × 285 mm.
