Abstract :
60-GHz millimeter wave communication systems usually require high gain and high efficiency antennas. Based upon these specific needs, a novel SIW horn antenna is designed for high gain and high efficiency applications. The horn antenna is integrated in four-layer substrate and fed by a SIW transition line. The numerical simulated 10dB bandwidth is over 8-GHz, covering the frequency range of 57-GHz~65-GHz. The gain is over 8.5 dBi and the radiation efficiency is as high as 94% within the whole band.
