Abstract :
A new compact slotted triangular monopole antenna for ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) application is presented. It exhibits an omnidirectional radiation pattern and has a bandwidth (BW) of more than 13%. The antenna covers the global UHF RFID band and has a maximum gain of around 2.84 dBi. An overview of the antenna design along with the simulation results are presented. Moreover, the theoretical maximum read range for a commercial tag using the designed antenna is calculated.
