Abstract :
An analytical approach is carried out to evaluate the impact group velocity dispersion (GVD) on the bit error rate performance of a wavelength division multiplexed optical network. The results show that the performance of the system is highly degraded in presence of fiber dispersion and presence of dispersion imposes severe restrictions on the number of nodes and the node spacing
