Abstract :
An algorithm for automatic classification of respiratory signals measured using abdominal strain gauge transducer is presented. The classification algorithm was developed using a combination of a second order autoregressive modelling and a modified zero-crossing algorithm. In test simulations, the proposed algorithm was capable of separating respiratory signals accurately as either apnea, respiration, or respiration with motion artifacts
