Abstract :
In order to screen excellent ameliorants for aeolian sandy soil, inorganic fertilizer, liquid humic acid, super-absorbing water polymer, peat, sapropel and their mixture were used, and the growth status of Chinese cabbage in the pot was tested to study the effect of these materials as ameliorants for aeolian sandy soil. The results have shown that the height, length or weight of Chinese cabbage in all the treatments with ameliorants is superior to that in the contrast (aeolian sandy soil). The mixture of peat and sapropel has the best effect on the growth of Chinese cabbage than peat or sapropel. Liquid humic acid can improve the growth of Chinese cabbage, but its effect is less than that of inorganic fertilizer, and it also can replace peat as organic material. The growth of Chinese cabbage in the treatments that inorganic fertilizer NPK was better than that in without inorganic fertilizer NPK. Inorganic fertilizer and organic material (peat or sapropel or its mixture) or liquid humic acid or their mixture added together are much better than those that only inorganic fertilizer NPK was added. In a word, organic-inorganic complex fertilizers which including inorganic fertilizer NPK and organic materials, such as any of peat, sapropel, liquid humic acid or their mixture have good effect on the growth of Chinese cabbage in the sandy soil.
