Abstract :
The effect of furfural, which was known as a deterioration of craft paper in transformer, on the conduction phenomena of dissolved water in insulating liquid, was discussed. The state and interaction between water cluster and furfural in insulating liquid was observed by FT-IR method, and it was analyzed what kinds of water cluster was contribute to conduction. From the results, dropping a little amount of furfural in moist insulating liquid, conductivity decreased. It was appeared that the furfural restrains that water increases conductivity of liquid. And it also appeared that water cluster of dimer and trimer contribute to conduction.
