Abstract
Wavelength conversion using cross-gain and cross-phase modulation in semiconductor optical amplifiers is discussed. Monolithic integration of SOAs with interferometers has enhanced device stability, and addition of elements like local lasers and preamplifiers has significantly extended device functionality
