Abstract :
This paper presents a novel high-performance sensorless IPMSM drive system and its application in washing machines. A new extended flux estimating method is developed here. Based on the extended flux estimating method, the rotor position and speed of an IPMSM can be obtained. Then, a closed-loop sensorless drive system has been implemented. The drive system starts from standstill and reaches 2000 r/min. In order to evaluate the proposed sensorless drive system, a washing machine is connected with the proposed system. This paper provides a new direction by using a sensorless IPMSM drive system in a washing machine with good performance.
