  • Abstract
This paper proposes a novel approach to design a switching scheme for a three phase inverter providing isolated ac power. The switching scheme is designed such that the weight of the magnetic components is reduced compared to a simple line frequency design. The paper describes the switching scheme and studies the sizing of magnetic components required. The design approach is compared with that of a standard sine Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) approach to bring out the advantages of the proposed scheme. Simulation results are also presented to verify the circuit operation.
