Abstract :
In this paper, we present a new concept of using existing electronic connectors, such as micro USB and audio phone jack, as the main structure of mm-wave antennas. The integrated antenna itself exhibits good radiation performance for 60GHz application. The modified connectors perform original connectivity when plugged and radiate mm-wave signal when unplugged or plugged with radiating enhancing structures. The combinations almost consume no extra footprint of the device´s circuit board.
