Abstract :
In this paper, we apply the technology of resonant frequency equation and adjust the feeding point location to obtain a broadband antenna. The methodology of designing broadband patch antenna is according to the equation of resonant frequency for the TMmnp mode. The main idea is to design two narrow bands around the required frequency and then combine them together to obtain wider bandwidth. The direct coaxial probe feed is adapted and the position of feeding is adjusted to mainly decide the impedance match. Simulation indicates that the bandwidth between -10 dB is about 104 MHz and S11=-28 dB at 2.45 GHz. The antenna gain is measured to be about 0.7 dBi for phi=0deg and phi=90deg. Measurement results are much agreement with those of simulation and really verify our discussion. The flexible and broadband features of designing patch antenna are suitable in our modern communications
