Abstract
In approaches found on technical document interpretation, the different symbols are generally defined as particular attributes, in the same way as the characters. That being the case for the localisation and label recognition, some symbols revert to treating the recognition problem. However, on analysing certain diagrams, it turns out that the recognition is made difficult by the presence of other entities in superimposition or the connection to the symbol. The object of this study is to set up a sound methodology allowing the extraction of particular symbols on telephone cable maps embodying the central lines
