Abstract
A modified definition of the stretching factor for perfectly matched layer is introduced in 2D finite difference time domain method. This modified definition allows us to write equations for only one polarization to calculate both TMz and TEz polarized fields by taking the advantage of duality relations. The wave incident at Brewster angle and wave propagation through Fresnel zone plate are simulated by our developed method.
