Abstract :
Line detection is one of the important tasks in soccer video analysis. We propose a method to extract lines, which includes a series of operations: extraction of field colours, removal of unwanted frames and objects, and line patching. The experiments show that our algorithm can extract most of lines on the field in real-time soccer video. It can also be applied in other sports, such as tennis and basket ball
