Abstract :
Based upon audience response from our presentation "From Technical Writer to Usability Professional: Transitioning from the Known into the Unknown" at the Region 7 STC conference in Portland in October 2001, we found that our audience also wanted to know how to prepare, facilitate, and analyze the results of a usability study. We propose to do a hands-on session in which the session attendees will learn the basic techniques to run a usability study on their own. We provide sample usability study documents they can use.
