Abstract :
With the operation of northwest 750 kV transmission engineering from Guan Ting substation to Lan Zhoudong substation and interconnecting between Northwest Grid and Central China Grid, the significance of the dynamic stability of Northwest Grid is becoming more and more obvious. Real-time dynamic stability monitoring and control system based on EMS (energy management system), WAMS (wide area measurement system) and fault information system can play an important role in solving those problems. The necessity and feasibility of constructing a real-time dynamic stability monitoring and control system for the area power system are analyzed, and the configuration and architecture of the system based on universal supported platform are proposed in this paper. Then, main functions and key technologies on constructing the system using the universal platform are discussed. Transparent data exchange and share among EMS, WAMS and fault information system can be easily achieved by the universal platform. It might be helpful to construct real-time dynamic stability monitoring and control system in area and provincial grids.
