Abstract
Any paper which seeks to explore the impact upon the adjudication process of the Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (“the Act”) does so with a single question in mind-will the provisions for adjudication within the Act provide a quick and effective method for resolving disputes? Responses to this question have shown a surprising degree of consensus. In common with most views on the Act commentators have welcomed the legislation while asking whether it will actually have an enormous practical impact. The author discusses the apparent scepticism, Section 108 of the Act, and practical considerations
