Abstract
The wide spread use of pulse width modulators in power supplies has created a need for computer models of the switching and control elements. This paper shows how to model switching regulators using the SPICE2 computer aided circuit analysis package for small signal ac, dc, and large signal transient simulations, both open and closed loop. With these models, a switching regulator design can be quickly and accurately evaluated at low cost.
