Abstract :
Knowledge representation is the core of knowledge engineering. Its capability directly influences the validity of reasoning and the capability of knowledge attaining. Therefore, there are many problems to cry for solving in constructing intelligent export system at present. Extenics is a new discipline that studies the laws and methods for dealing with contradiction problems with formalized models. The rules in Extenics are called extension rules by a joint name, including extended rules, conjugate rules, conductive rules, and logical calculus rules of basic-elements and operational rules of transformations. It is concise, normative and easy to operation that using the relation expression of basic-elements based on these rules to express knowledge. The expressions include the extended expression of basic-elements and the conjugate expression of basic-elements, the implication expression of transformations and the compound expression of basic elements. The knowledge representation can systematically describe multifarious feasibility that things are developed based on the extensibility and conjugate nature of basic-elements. They can get over some shortcoming of ones in existence, and can describe changing knowledge and thus provide tools for producing strategies to solve contradiction problems. They provide new theories and methods for exploring advanced intelligent and will bring into play important effect in knowledge representation technology.
