Abstract :
The transition from passive to active distribution systems is attractive for the integration of distributed energy resources, improved reliability, and increased efficiency. This paper shares different concerns and approaches to assess the impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on the reliability of active distribution systems, based on the shared experiences of CIGRE Working Group C6.19 “Planning and Optimization Methods for Active Distribution Systems”. Particular consideration is given to co-simulation tool functionality, assessment, and data requirements.
