Abstract :
Gout has a high onset rate in coastal regions, and the interaction between gout susceptibility genes and (coastal) diet is needed to study. A molecular linkage between gout-specific local gene network (LGN) and nutrient metabolism modules was constructed based on a local gene network approach, which reveals a complex relationship between gout-specific-LGN and metabolic modules of nucleotide metabolism, lipid metabolism, amino acid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, cofactor and vitamin metabolism. Interestingly, nucleotide metabolism modules do link more gout genes than other metabolism modules, providing a primary technological platform to study the impact of diet on gout onset and to develop preventive personalized nutrition regimen.
