Abstract :
Presents the basic concepts of the WDM 2-D interconnection in which, for simplicity only the first of M planes is transmitting and the rest are receiving. The transmitting plane is composed of an NXN pixel array with each transmitting pixel containing a miniature multiple-wavelength VCSEL laser diode array. Each laser in a pixel emits light at a different wavelength with all wavelengths being equally spaced apart. This WDM pixel is identically repeated for the entire NXN plane array
