Abstract :
Summary form only given. This paper introduces new architectures for implementing both uni-directional and bi-directional self-healing interoffice ring networks which use WDM for growth. The proposed architectures overcome the electronic limitations of SONET ADMs of about 10 Gb/s. The paper will also focus on different evolution strategies for interoffice networks from SONET rings to WDM rings
