Abstract
Optical nanodipole antennas using surface plasmon polaritons are numerically investigated with the three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method. The length of the dipole arm is determined using the effective index of the metal rod calculated from the eigenmode analysis. A stub structure is introduced to match the impedance between the nanodipole antenna and the feeding waveguide. The radiation efficiency and reflectivity are calculated and discussed.
