Abstract :
Novel schemes for UTRAN-specific UMTS QoS parameters mapping onto MPLS shim header fields for the traffic originating in UMTS access network and traversing MPLS/DiffServ enabled IP-backbone network core are proposed in this paper. The heterogeneous network implementation context and the conformity of class of service (CoS) parameters support of each of the technologies is highlighted
