Abstract
Firms often turn to supply chain management software to systematically standardize operations. But the challenge is that decision makers often find the software hard to master, say nothing of best utilizing the data provided. To input these data into Decision Support Systems (DSS) is a way to bridge the gap between management systems and decision makers. Wholesaler has been deemed as a part of the supply chain, but a system that focuses solely on its inventory management is ignored by DSS for years. Since push strategy has been adopting by more and more enterprises, the trend of DSS designed particularly for the wholesaler is inevitable. This paper analyses the application of DSS in wholesaling inventory management, by summarizing the literature of DSS development and application.
