Abstract :
Fuzzy reasoning is treated as a closed-loop and optimal process, which is different from the dominant view of treating fuzzy reasoning as generalization of classical logical inference, that is, an open-loop and non-optimal process. Further, the fuzzy rule base and the fuzzy reasoning method can constitute a closed-loop control system with a reasoning goals/constraint designed by users. A kind of closed-loop optimal fuzzy reasoning is used in fuzzy adaptive controllers, which are designed for vertical flight of model helicopters. Simulation results show that closed-loop optimal fuzzy reasoning can be used for control of complex systems. And closed-loop optimal fuzzy reasoning provides a framework for various control principles to be applied in fuzzy reasoning or logical inference.
